Dr. Eram Anwar :- A Turtle Reveals Its Journey

“Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.” – Abraham Lincoln

Greetings! I’m Dr. Eram Anwar, a calm and simple soul from Patna. Raised in an educated, principled, and grounded family, the expectations were clear: I was meant to continue the family legacy. My academic journey began at JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) in New Delhi, followed by a return to my hometown, Patna, where I prepared for NEET.

After securing a decent rank, I joined Mithila Minority Dental College and Hospital in Darbhanga.

It’s common in a doctor’s family for there to be a silent understanding: the child will follow in the family’s footsteps and wear the medical apron one day. I, too, was expected to do so. Throughout my school years, I consistently ranked in the top ten and was fully committed to fulfilling my father’s vision. Yet, something unexpected started to stir within me—an unspoken desire to write. Gradually, my passion for medicine began to wane, though I couldn’t immediately pinpoint the cause.

To resolve the internal conflict, I decided to temporarily set aside my love for writing and focus on meeting my father’s aspirations. This decision led to my admission at MMDCH, and I moved to Darbhanga. With no pressure on my shoulders anymore, I picked up my pen again, and balancing both my studies and writing became surprisingly easier.

Writing poetry across various genres became a therapeutic activity for me, and I made a commitment to continue. Then came the lockdown, a phase that changed everything for me. I joined the Profound Writers group, where my writing skills flourished. It was there that I secretly began working on my first book. During this time, I received several invitations from compilers around the country to contribute to anthologies. I ended up writing for over thirty-five of them.

On October 21st, 2022, my debut book, Behind the Veil, was launched on Amazon, Flipkart, and Notion Press. The experience was surreal, and a sense of fulfillment washed over me. I had managed to maintain a top-five rank in every college exam while also being asked by professors and peers for my autograph on my first book.

This journey taught me the delicate art of balancing seemingly contradictory pursuits, and with it, my self-confidence grew exponentially.

I came to believe that success requires patience, persistence, and unwavering self-belief. No one reaches the top without taking those first few steps, and the rate of progress doesn’t matter as much as the fact that you’re steadily moving forward.

As I continue to explore the spiritual aspects of life, I’ve uncovered a profound truth: True joy comes from helping those who cannot repay you in any material way; the only thing they can give you is pure blessings, which no one else can offer. Embracing this philosophy has brought me immense inner peace.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my mother and my dearest friends, Diksha and Nidhi, whose constant support and encouragement have shaped me into the person I am today.
